Over the last weeks of the school year, the Rahway High School Musical Theater Class helped teach some important lessons to our Rahway elementary school students in bullying, tolerance and respecting each others differences.
Led by drama teacher, Jensyn Modero, Alison Dooley and Robert Van Wyk, 50+ high school artists presented a 90 minute long musical version of the hit movie "Shrek" based on its recent Broadway run.
The production was an excellent learning experience for the high school musical theater students as they were responsible for setting up/loading in a set, props and sound system to the elementary school for each performance. Student performers also had a great opportunity to learn puppetry . Special thanks to band director, Miguel Bolivar for leading the technical setup with the sound system.
Shrek has a wonderful theme that being different is awesome. Being different is something to be proud of and something to sing about. The laughter and smiles on each students face clearly demonstrated that they enjoyed the performance.
