Our '16-17 Season Awaits

The Award winning Rahway High School Performing Arts Department proudly announces the opening of its upcoming 2016-2017 season. Starting on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd (7 pm) Rahway Theater presents a hilarious comedy, "You Can't Take It With You", a madcap comedy about two very different families. Hilarity ensues as love conquers all.

The next week of Thursday, December 8th, 7 pm, our Rahway Bands, Choirs, Dance and Strings combine forces for our "Winter Spectacular", a ninety minute non-stop kaleidoscope production that surrounds the audience.

Friday, January 6th and Saturday, January 7th brings our first musical of the season, produced by our Musical Theater Class. "Once on

this Island" is an adaptation of the popular fairy tale, The Little Mer

maid, set in the Caribbean and featuring an infectious musical score by the team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Seussical, Ragtime).

We proudly present one of the first school productions in New Jersey of the recent Broadway musical, “Big Fish” on Friday, March 24th, Saturday, March 25th (7pm) , and Sunday, March 26th (2 pm). “Big Fish” is based on Daniel Wallace’s 1998 novel, Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions and the 2003 hit film directed by Tim Burton. “Big Fish” revolves around the relationship between Edward Bloom, a travelling salesman, and his adult son Will, who looks for what is behind his father’s tall stories. It is a musical with tremendous heart, spirit and a little bit of magic.

All performances are at the Rahway High School Center for the Performing Arts, 1012 Madison Avenue. Tickets for all performances are available at https://rwhs.booktix.com/
